Shirley Jean Nordman

Shirley Jean Nordman, 87, of Belvidere, IL, passed away peacefully Friday, January 3, 2025, surrounded by her family. She was born on February 15, 1937, in Belvidere, IL. The daughter of Elmer and Viona (Schwebke) Fidder. She married the love of her life, Robert Wayne Nordman on February 11, 1956, at the First United Methodist Church in Belvidere. She enjoyed gardening, canning vegetables and tomatoes, adult coloring books, and word searches. She was a wonderful cook and known for her best dishes, fried chicken “Sunday Dinner”, and her breaded pork chops. She also made homemade pie crusts with lard and mints for weddings. She is loved and will be missed by her children, Connie Wilkins, Carol (Roman) Garcia, Cheryl (Tom) Wennmacher, Cindy (Craig) Wilcox, David (Sue) Nordman; son-in-law, Dan Flynn; 13 grandchildren; 14 great grandchildren with one on the way; sister, Diana (Rick) Thiede; beloved cat, Kitty. She was preceded in death by her parents, Elmer and Viona; beloved husband, Robert Nordman; daughter, Cathy Flynn; son-in-law, Dennis Wilkins; brother, Robert Fidder. There will be a memorial service on Saturday, January 11, 2025, at 11:30 A.M. at Belvidere Funeral Home & Cremation Service in Belvidere, IL. A visitation will begin at 9:30 A.M. until the time of service. Inurnment in Shattucks Grove Cemetery in Belvidere, IL. In lieu of flowers memorials can be made to the Keen Age Center.
