Theo Lucille Hildebrand, 102, of Belvidere, IL went to be with the Lord on Monday, December 7, 2020. She was born to Albert and Daisy Belle (Heywood) Blachford on Sunday, September 1, 1918 in Belvidere, IL. Theo attended Curtis School. She married the love of her life, Ralph Hildebrand on Saturday, May 1, 1937. They worked on the family farm on Stone Quarry Road for many years before moving to Belvidere. Theo was a great farm wife tending to chores, animals, planting, and canning food. At harvest time, tables of food were served to all the workers. She continued canning and freezing food until 3 years ago. She was employed by Sunnyside Florist, Boone County Shopper, and Belvidere Daily Republican. Ralph passed away on Thursday, January 5, 1995. Until his death you would never see one with out the other. They loved to dance, host family parties, picnics, and neighborhood gatherings. Theo taught herself to play the piano and organ. She loved to play card games and was a tough opponent to beat. She was a member of Flora Grange for 80 years. No children were born to Theo, but she mothered many children along life’s “Highway”. Theo was a very caring person. She is survived by her sisters, Bernietta Kays, Margaret Karrienan; brother, Donald L. Blachford; numerous nieces and nephews; special friends and neighbors, Julie Anderson, Elma West; special daughter, Lyddia Hare, and her family. She was preceded in death by her parents, Albert and Daisy; beloved husband, Ralph; sisters, Jane Sullivan, Lorraine Blachford, Alberta Bowen; brothers, Francis Blachford, Eli Blachford, Albert Blachford Jr., William Blachford, 2 infant brothers. The family would like to give special thanks to the staff at Maple Crest Care Centre for their excellent and loving care for Theo. There will be a funeral service on Friday, December 11, 2020 beginning at 11:00 A.M. at Belvidere Funeral Home & Cremation Service in Belvidere, IL. There will be a visitation from 9:00 A.M. until the time of service. Interment will be held at Highland Garden of Memories in Belvidere, IL. Memorials can be made to Flora Grange.
