Troy Michael Snyder, 27, of Rockford, IL, tragically passed away Monday, November 17, 2025. He was born February 2, 1998, in Rockford, IL. The son of Michael W. Snyder and Beth (Kirsche) Hearns. He graduated from Belvidere High School where he was proud to play football for the BUCS. He attended the University of South Alabama.
Though his journey was often difficult, Troy’s spirit, faith, and generosity left a lasting imprint on everyone blessed to know him.
Troy was a devout Catholic who regularly attended Mass at St. James in Rockford, Illinois. His love of worship extended beyond attendance, he joyfully shared his beautiful voice in the choir at Crosspoint Church for several years, where he built friendships and found a sense of belonging.
He enjoyed simple moments of peace: reading scripture, time spent with family, pick-up basketball games at the YMCA, and creating artwork.
We are deeply grateful for the communities that stood beside Troy throughout his life, Crosspoint Church, Credo, and St. James. The men of Credo, in particular, provided him with meaningful fellowship and welcomed him into their retreats, offering him needed respite from a world that was often harsh and unforgiving. Many family and friends offered their kindness and compassion, and for that, we remain forever thankful.
Troy is loved and will be deeply missed by his loving mother, Beth (Brian Mahan) Hearns; loving father, Mike (Stella) Snyder; siblings, Max (Kelsey) Snyder, Jace Hearns, Madeline Mahan, Bryan Sipe, Megan (Patrick) McKiski, Brett White, Lindsey White. Grandparents, Max Kirsche, Rod and Karen Snyder; nieces and nephews, Ivy, Jackson, Stella, Isabella, and many aunts, uncles, cousins, and friends whose lives were touched by his kind heart. He was preceded in death by his grandmothers, Janis Kirsche and Linda Anderson.
Though his time with us was far too short, he is now at peace with Christ, our Heavenly Father.
