Victor Herrera Obituary

Victor Herrera, 85, of Belvidere, IL, passed away on Monday, October 18, 2021, at Swedish American Hospital in Rockford, IL. He was born on Friday, August 21, 1936, to the late Espiritu and Maria David (Castillo) Herrera in Mexico. He married the love of his life, Norberta Mujica on Saturday, February 2, 1963, in Mexico. Victor is loved and will be deeply missed by his beloved wife, Norberta; sons, Ray (Mary) Herrera, Nato Herrera, Timo Herrera; daughter, Bertha (Brent) Bowley; grandchildren, Alex (Dulce) Herrera, Marysol (Adan Vasquez) Herrera, Katlin (Cameron Hodge) Herrera, Cely Herrera; great grandchildren, Leonardo Herrera - Cardozo, Adan Vasquez, Levi Herrera, Cooper Herrera, Azucena Vasquez; brother, Norberto (Luz) Herrera; sister, Micaela Herrera. He was preceded in death by his parents, Espiritu and Maria; brother, Guadalupe Herrera. There will be a visitation on Saturday, October 23, 2021, at Belvidere Funeral Home & Cremation Service in Belvidere, IL from 10:00 A.M. to 11:45 A.M. A Mass of Christian Burial will begin at 12:00 P.M. at St. James Catholic Church in Belvidere, IL. Interment will be in Belvidere Cemetery. A memorial fund has been established in the family’s name.
