Victoria Phillips Obituary

Victoria Jean Phillips (Vickie), 59, passed away peacefully on February 21, 2025, in Elgin, IL.

Vickie was born on October 24, 1965, in Southborough, Massachusetts, to David Barnes and Joan (Mott) Groves. As a child, she moved to Elgin, IL, where she spent most of her life. She attended Elgin schools and was a proud graduate of Larkin High School. She was deeply loved in her many roles within the restaurant scene, where her warmth and generosity left a lasting impact on the community. She later spent 17 years at Chase Bank as a Fraud Specialist where she cultivated lifelong friendships.

Vickie is survived by her children, William (Vanessa) Phillips, Amber Phillips (Nick Young) and Dyllon Miller; her grandchildren, Jeremiah, Micah, Josiah, and Evelyn; and her sisters, Frances Groves (Earl Clement) and Sarah (Daniel) O’Hara. She was preceded in death by her parents and her eldest sister, Ruth Ann Groves. We can’t forget her beloved Tarded Kitty.

She is also survived by Charles Nave, a cherished companion and lifelong friend, who remained a loving presence in her life and the lives of her family.

Vickie was known for her infectious laughter, giant heart, and ability to make friends wherever she went. She loved spending time with her family, enjoyed a good meal, and always had a kind word for everyone.

Vickie’s greatest joy in life was her grandchildren. They were the light of her world, and she cherished every moment spent with them. Whether it was sharing stories, offering words of wisdom, or simply showering them with love.

Vickie was one of the most generous souls many had ever met, always giving without hesitation and loving with a depth that was unmatched. She had a way of making everyone feel special, and her kindness left a lasting impact on all who knew her.

A celebration of her life will be held at The Haight, 166 Symphony Way, Elgin, IL, on March 5, 2025, from 4 PM - 8:30PM. Food and refreshments will be served as we gather to share memories and honor Vickie’s life.

In lieu of flowers, the family asks that donations be made to The Superhero Center in Loves Park in Vickie’s honor.
