Walter A. Schachtner

Walter A. Schachtner,87,of Belvidere passed away Monday July 8,2013 at
his home. He was born July 27,1925 in Carroll,Iowa the son of George and Teresa M.(Newburg)Schachtner. He attended school in Carroll,Ia. Married Margie Buske
October 18,1947 in Osage,Iowa.

Walter used to farm and build golf courses when he lived in Iowa,he moved to Belvidere in
1965 and worked in maintenance at the Chrysler plant in Belvidere. A member of St. James Catholic Church,Belvidere. Where he was a 4th degree Knight with Knights
of Columbus Belvidere Council #735. He loved to travel,fish and garden,but most of all he loved spending time with his family.

He is survived by his daughter,Carol Schachtner,Belvidere. Daughter in law,Sue
Schachtner(Dick)Babcock. Grandchildren,John(Vanessa),Steve(Melissa),Andrew
(Nikki),Brian(Nicole),Schachtner and Steve(Tina)Griffis,Pamela(Dylen)Larsen,
Marsha(Joel)Jordan. Brother,Lloyd(Marian)Schachtner. Sister,Ruth(Gene)
Madden and 9 Great Grandchildren. Preceded in death by his parents,wife,Margie,Sons,David Lee & Lennis.Grandson,David Lee,GreatGranddaughter,Madeline,and 4 brothers and sisters.

Mass of Christian Burial Saturday July 13,2013 at 2:00 p.m. in Our Lady of Good
Council Catholic Church in Fonda,Iowa. Visitation Saturday at Church from 12:15
Pm until time of service. Burial at Mount Zion Catholic Cemetery in Fonda.
