Wayne Langdon Obituary

Wayne Langdon, 68, of Rockford, IL, peacefully entered the presence of his Lord and Savior Jesus Christ on Monday, January 30, 2023. God gave him the strength to live nine more years following his diagnosis of throat cancer, despite multiple medical complications. He was born on August 14,1954 to Alvin and Marian Langdon in Wyoming, New York. Wayne was a proud Navy veteran for four years during the Vietnam War with an honorable discharge in 1978. He graduated with a bachelor’s degree from Kennedy-Western University with a Bachelor of Science and Business Administration in 2002. He worked as an electrical engineer for most of his life until he retired due to his illness. On March 26,1983, Wayne married Debra (Grace) and together they were the parents of two children, Allisha and Amanda. During his life he enjoyed working as an electrical engineer, riding his motorcycle, baking, being a handyman, researching his ancestral heritage, traveling, and spending time with his family. Wayne also was a devout Christian who loved God and sought to serve and honor him in many ways. Wayne is loved and will be deeply missed by his beloved wife, Debra; daughters, Allisha (Zach) Wise, Amanda (John) Wenger; grandchildren, Ares Wise, Maverick Wise; sisters, Jennifer (Holton) Langdon, Deanna Taylor; brothers, Rodney (Linda) Langdon, Norwood Langdon. Wayne was preceded in death by his parents. A Celebration of Life will be held on Saturday, February 4, 2023, at 11:00 A.M. with a memorial service following at noon at Christ the Rock Lutheran Church, 8330 Newburg Rd, Rockford, IL 61108. After the ceremony, a luncheon will be provided at the church. In lieu of flowers, the family prefers donations to be made in Wayne Langdon's honor to The American Cancer Society. Interment will be private.
