William Ahlberg

William Randolph Ahlberg, 87, of Belvidere, IL, passed away on Tuesday, March 1, 2022, at Javon Bea Hospital in Rockford, IL. He was born September 16, 1934, in Belvidere, IL to the late Roy and Mildred (Johnson) Ahlberg. William served his country in The United States Army during the Korean Conflict. He married the love of his life, Jean Gallager, on December 23, 1967, in Belvidere, IL. William enjoyed traveling, especially to his cottage in Wisconsin, and wintering in Florida. He loved to go to Soldier Field and watch the Chicago Bears, fishing, and gambling with his cousin Charlie. William was a retired salesman from Elco Industries for over 40 years, but if you asked him what he did he would say he was a farmer. William is loved and will be deeply missed by his daughters, Lesley (Phil Foltmer) Ahlberg, Kirsten Ahlberg, Lisa Ahlberg; grandchildren, Gianna Ahlberg, Griffin Ahlberg. He was preceded in death by his parents, Roy and Mildred; beloved wife, Jean; brother, Kenneth Ahlberg. There will be a funeral service on Sunday, March 6, at Belvidere Funeral Home & Cremation Service at 3:00 P.M. A visitation will begin at 1:00 P.M. until the time of service. There will be a graveside service at Shattuck’s Grove Cemetery in Belvidere, IL on Monday, March 7, 2022, at 11:00 A.M. A memorial fund has been established in the family’s name.
