Earl “Woody” Newman Walker, 71, of Belvidere, IL passed away on Saturday, January 5, 2019 at Northwoods Care Centre in Belvidere, IL. The son of the late J. A. and Mary Kathryn (Rednour) Walker. He was born on Thursday, January 9, 1947 in Belvidere, IL. He graduated from Belvidere High School. Earl married the love of his life, Cheryl Lee on Saturday, June 9, 1979 at Immanuel Lutheran Church in Belvidere, IL. Earl and Cheryl renewed their vows on Sunday, December 30, 2018. He was also baptized again on Sunday, December 30, 2018. Earl is loved and will be deeply missed by his beloved wife, Cheryl; son, Brad Walker; daughters, Robyn (Mike) Lanning, Ashley Walker; grandchildren, Alexis, Trista, Kaia, Michael; sisters, Cindy (Gary) Peacock, Sally (Gary) Pantilla, Sandra Cox; God daughter, Kathy Lee; numerous nieces and nephews. Earl was preceded in death by his parents; brother, John Dale Walker; brother in law, Greg Cox. There will be a visitation on Friday, January 11, 2019 from 9:00 A.M. to 11:00 A.M. at Belvidere Funeral Home & Cremation Service. A funeral service will begin at 11:00 A.M. with Pastor Dale Anderson officiating. Interment in Shattuck Grove Cemetery. A memorial fund has been established in the family’s name.
